SWIMMING WHEN TOUCHING THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL

This floating exercise is particularly aimed at those who can only swim when they touch bottom. Watch carefully how deep the girl is underwater : the secret of floating is to completely stay underwater. The deeper you go, the more you float (that's the application of Archimedes' law explaining buoyancy). As a consequence, the more you float, the less you're anxious and the more you're going where you're not within your depth.

Tips & Tricks : If you want to swim where you're not within your depth and you perfectly know the proper moves, you'll have to do the following two exercises before we meet :
- Firstly, to swim with your head underwater and to look at the bottom of the pool. The learner will immediately feel lighter.
- Secondly, to do the same exercise with your head underwater but this time with your chin raised. The learner will soon realize this exercise will easily clear the respiratory tract.
If you still fail to swim where you're not within your depth, it means you don't know the right moves.

The end of the video equally shows how to move from the the horizontal position that makes you float to a resting vertical position. Just watch the swimmer's knees and chin simultaneously moving to her chest. Eventually, we can distinctly see her arms moving backwards.

PS : Breathing rhythm : making lungs hold too much air is a typical mistake and is the cause of feeling suffocated. To easily remedy the problem, make sure the time you take to breathe out is much longer than the time you take to breathe in.
